Workplace wellbeing interventions & support

for community-driven, future-focused changemakers

You need your business to be more streamlined, more efficient and able to do more.

You want to increase staff productivity, reduce the costs of work-related sick leave and presenteeism and see an excellent return on investment.

You want team members who:

  • Love coming to work
  • Are supported to perform optimally
  • Are proud to be part of your team

You want to feel better about life and work.

And you want to be able to support your team through these difficult times.

The challenge

You’re stressed out. Your team is stressed out. You feel like you’re struggling to balance everything; you’re spread too thin.

Most days, it feels like you’re all headed towards burnout.

Your team works hard; they deserve to be supported. And they need to have the tools to do their jobs properly: it’s a waste of everyone’s time and money when people aren’t efficient.

You know that if you don’t manage everyone’s wellbeing then you won’t be able to take on more work – or even do a good job of the work you already have.

You need a hand.

Our solution

Simply put, we take the pressure off. We offer a complete intervention solution that grows with the needs of your business.

Our interactive platform allows you to connect, share and develop your learning with others. Our learning materials are designed to support your business needs and help your staff become more productive and autonomous in their work.

And all our materials are under one roof, accessible 24/7, and continuously improved and added to.

“I found all aspects of the course to be very beneficial. Lucienne’s slides, workbook materials and delivery were engaging and clear. What I like in particular is her conversational delivery style and her ability to bring her audience into the discussions through reflection on their own personal experiences and challenges. As a speaker, coach and trainer myself, I appreciate her expertise and passion for helping and empowering others to be the best they can be and I will be working with her again soon.”

Staff buy-in

Your staff want to feel listened to, supported and cared about – and to know that they have the practical skills they need to help them manage stress, work and life in general.

When you work with us your team will become part of a professional, high quality, evidence-backed community. A community that is interested in helping them be the best version of themselves. They’ll have the option to converse directly with approachable staff who have relevant lived experience and are just like them – people juggling family, work, education, death, illness and all the challenges of life and work.

They’ll feel safe and secure that they are looked after by professionals,

They’ll feel looked after as individuals, not staff members, and feel more comfortable and able to speak up when they need support.

They’ll feel they have a valuable resource that they can turn to when needed, instant access to courses and training, and a place where they feel psychologically safe.

And they’ll know that they are working with a credible, mission-driven organisation that is heavily invested in the development and protection of both people and planet.

Why Ebb & Flow?

I’m Lucienne Miller, founder of Ebb & Flow. I’m passionate about using business to change the way people manage their mental wellbeing.

I came face to face with anxiety disorders in my teens, when my OCD first became apparent. It crippled me for over a decade and impacted my ability to do my work. I had to hide my wellbeing struggles from an unsupportive workplace, which led to a huge increase in absenteeism and presenteeism. Not only was it costing me in terms of my health, and impacting on my family and community, it was also negatively impacting the business bottom line.

Then in my early 30’s I came across resilience and positive psychology – and everything changed. From this turning point, I was able to regain control. I’m now a mum of four, a wife, a business owner and an eternal student.

A better way to do business

It was soon apparent that I wasn’t alone in my underperformance; others were also in the same trap. The downstream cost of hidden workplace wellbeing was easily seen, as the fallout reduced the productivity of colleagues who had to pick up the slack, support struggling team members, and occasionally became so stressed with the added pressure that they also entered a downward spiral.

Seeing this, I decided to create positive change: a way of doing business that supports the person, whilst also supporting the business needs. I combined a decade of experience working in business education and development and my background in positive coaching, positive psychology and resilience with the latest in wellbeing tracking to create Ebb & Flow Global.

There is a better way to do business! One that supports staff holistically, so that we see an increase in productivity that can be felt both inside and outside the workplace.

After all, what’s good for people is good for business.

“I had the pleasure of attending a Resilience course with Ebb & Flow this month. I found the course to be insightful and the trainer authentic. It was delivered with humility and grace. I have practical resources that are easily transferable and very much appreciate this opportunity.”

FAQs

‘Wellbeing’ seems to be a bit of a buzzword at the moment – and it feels a bit ‘fluffy’. Will we actually see a return on our investment?

Studies show that wellbeing is imperative for business profitability. DELOITTE research has proved that investing in wellbeing gives an average ROI of 5.2:1 – that’s over £5 return for every £1 spent. And the better initiatives have been shown to have an ROI of 10.8:1.

Wellbeing might be a nice thing to invest in at some point in the future, but is it really a priority when there are other more pressing challenges?

We believe that wellbeing training and workshops should be done in a preemptive manner to support the aims of your business. Recent studies show that interventions with the highest returns tend to focus on preventative initiatives, addressing employees’ wellbeing before they become stressed and burnt out. Our preemptive interventions help limit the cost of absenteeism and presenteeism further down the line.

Isn’t this a job for our HR department?

Wellbeing might feel as though it is something for Human Resources to take up but what we do is far more specialised and in depth than anything an HR team might have the time or expertise to deliver. We are fully trained, experienced, knowledgeable Wellbeing experts, and we offer a complete Resilience & Wellbeing solution, with quality materials and high end service and delivery.

You say this is scientific and evidence-based. How do you measure results and ensure you’re providing the right interventions?

We track employee wellbeing using verified surveys and metrics to make sure our interventions are working and that we’re offering the right support where it is needed. We also ensure staff have a say in the bespoke workshops and interventions (alongside company-driven interventions, such as diary management or dealing with overwhelm) so they feel invested, motivated and supported to do a great job.
